Formerly known as The Open University of Hong Kong (OUHK), Hong Kong Metropolitan University was established by the Government in 1989 to respond to the needs of the community by offering professional and application-oriented programs at different levels through its seven teaching faculties. The University will be renamed “Hong Kong Metropolitan University” on 1 September 2021.
